- 75 to 150 minutes

- A walk under the canopy

- Walk under fallen trees

- Swim in the river

The hike into the Berembun forest is mostly flat with some short stretches of steep uphill and downhill. No special footwear needed. Sandals or flip flops / slippers are still ok.

It takes a person of average fitness 75 minutes one way although an unfit person has taken as long as 2.5 hours one way.

At the end of the hike there is a beautiful river with clear, cold water, a very small waterfall, and some deep ponds to jump in for a swim.

  1. The water is fast flowing at some narrow places so please be careful. Do not get in while it is raining as sometimes the water level rises very quickly in the rain.
  2. On rainy days, you may get leeches on the ground level along the trail. You can avoid them using leach socks, or spraying insecticide on your shoes. If they are on you, you can use salt, fire or just pull them off.
  3. The path is quite visible and people do it on their own but we highly recommend going with a guide as there have been cases of hikers getting lost.
